Antonio To Lead News At WABC-TV

The individual who most recently served as SVP of Programming for CNN and was the network’s primary programming executive for the U.S. has been chosen to lead the nation’s most-watched newscasts in the nation, effective April 29.


It’s a return to the station for John Antonio, will serve as VP of News for WABC-7 in New York, reporting to President/GM Marilu Galvez. ““John Antonio is an accomplished news executive with a successful track record of leading and modernizing news teams across various platforms,” said Galvez. “Having worked with John in the past, we are excited to welcome him back to the Eyewitness News team. I am confident that he will use his expertise and vision to further enhance the station’s success, providing the highest quality local news.”

Before joining CNN, Antonio was WABC-7’s Managing Editor and Executive Producer for Eyewitness News at both 5pm and 6pm. Previously, he was the executive producer of Special Projects at WFXT-TV in Boston.
