Alison Hurbert-Burns will be leaving the Foxtel Group at the end of the month, after six years with the company.
Hurbert-Burns is currently commissioner and executive director of content at Foxtel and Binge, a role she has held since 2020.
In her time at Foxtel Group, Hurbert-Burns has overseen the commissioning and production of 25 television series, including Love Me, Colin From Accounts, and The Twelve, as well as the first Binge Original movie, How To Make Gravy. In addition, Stephanie Quinn has been promoted to executive director of content and commercial partnerships, where she will lead the development and execution of the company’s content partnership strategy.
Hurbert-Burns announced her departure on LinkedIn, writing: “I’m very thankful for the chance to work in the Australian and global television industry. It’s made up of some of my favourite people, brilliant minds and wonderful colleagues.
“We get to tell stories that make a lasting impact, to make art and be part of our audiences lives, if only for a moment in time.”
In a note sent to staff, seen by Mumbrella, Foxtel’s Retail and Hubbl CEO Hilary Perchard praised Hubert-Burns’ “creativity and deep relationships across the industry”, and credited her with scaling Binge “from an emerging streamer to the powerhouse entertainment product it is today”, with over 1.5 million subscribers.
Hurbert-Burns will finish up at Foxtel at the end of February.
