Facts and stats
La Chaîne parlementaire (French for The Parliamentary Channel) is a French television network responsible for broadcasting activity from the National Assembly of France (LCP) and the Senate of France (Public Sénat). It is available through digital terrestrial television "TNT". It was created in 1999 on the request of the National Assembly of France to broadcast in a way comparable to BBC Parliament. It started by broadcasting twice a week, Tuesday and Wednesday, in the afternoons on France 3. On 8 February 2000, the channel started broadcasting activity from the Senate of France. The channel broadcasts 24h from the Assembly followed by 24h from the Senate in a pre-arranged order. On 31 March 2005, the channel obtained its own TNT frequency.
