Capital FM Yorkshire and Deputy Regional Group Programme Director Alex Jungius is leaving Global Radio to join production company Distorted as Strategic Director.

Alex joined the Galaxy Network in 2002 where he lead the imaging team before becoming the Programme Director of the biggest commercial station outside London, with the creation of the new national Capital Network in 2011.

Distorted is a multi award-winning production and radio company reaching over 6 million listeners every month, making and syndicating content for international networks such as Sirius XM, iHeart Radio and Kiss, Number 1 podcasts for iTunes and in-flight content for airlines such as British Airways.

Set up by Andi Durrant and Nick Riley, Leeds-based Distorted produces Defected In The House - the worlds biggest house music show, alongside weekly radio programmes for global electronic artists like Paul Van Dyk, Sister Bliss, Don Diablo, Chicane and Kryder.

Alex: "I’ve had an amazing 13 years with Global but the opportunity to nurture and create world class content with Distorted was too good to pass up. They also have a bloody fruit machine in the office... no brainer!”

Andi Durrant, co-founder, added: “We’re incredibly excited to have Alex join the growing team here at Distorted. As Strategic Director he will bring some fantastic experience and creativity to the company, and expand our portfolio outside of music programming”.

This is the second high-profile management change in Yorkshire in the last few months; in May, Heart Yorkshire PD Ricky Durkin left the station to pursue a freelance career.
