SNK Studios is one of London’s leading audio post production companies. We occupy 6floors on Tottenham Court Road – a lovely building stuffed full of recording studios and production offices! As part of the SNK Publishing Group, the companies here also includeRed Apple Creative - a specialist digital and audio creative agency - and Radio Results -a radio media agency.

We are looking for a Junior Sound Engineer to join the current team of in-houseengineers.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a growing relationship with a major international TV and film streaming content provider. We handle the mixing of a lot of their foreign 're-versioning' work; dubbing UK /US programming into other languages. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience working on the adaption and re-versioning of internationally acclaimed shows.This account is growing, and a lot of your time may be spent helping with this output. You will also learn on the job working throughout the rest of the facility... Other clients include . major brands like Mitsubishi, Hasbro, and NBC Universal whom we create lots of short-form commercial audio for – including radio, TV, digital and cinema ads.

We are looking for a Junior Sound Engineer to help support the day-to-day running of these projects, and to learn how best to support one of the finest companies to work for in London!

You will work closely with the engineering and production staff to:

  • Train on the foreign versioning work

  • Record voiceovers, edit and mix commercials when required

  • Use the ISDNs system to record voice overs remotely

  • Deliver files to producers and to clients

  • When required create sound design as part of projects

  • Help runners with day to day running of the facility

  • Tidy down studios

  • Diligently record sessions in our logging ‘Trello’ system

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE-

This job is ideal for a grad with some industry experience, although no degree is necessary – you could be someone who's worked as a freelancer for a while - and now wants to be part of a bigger, more established team.

  • A thorough knowledge of ProTools is a must – you will be tested on this –including knowledge of EQ, Compression, and how to treat voice files. You recognise when something sounds good and when it doesn't.

  • Some experience of mixing to picture would help – familiar with TV / Online specs including loudness / R128. Video file formats and frame-rate knowledge would be a bonus too.

  • Attention to detail is key, being organised is paramount.

  • You're presentable with great communication skills - good email and phone manner is crucial. You need to be polite, calm and open to learning new things.

Hours:

9am – 6pm Monday to Friday, with one hour unpaid lunch break- occasionally required tobe flexible, detailed in T&Cs prior to contract

Salary & Probation:

Starting salary = £20k+ depending on experience. Probation period of 3 months, extendable to 6 months at company discretion. Annual salary review. Discretionary Benefits (after passing probation):
