Facts and stats

Founded in 2014, Communicorp UK is the fourth largest commercial radio group in the UK. It owns regional radio stations across many parts of the UK, which licence brands and national programming from Global. Global also represents the stations on a national level, while Communicorp UK sells advertising locally.

Communicorp UK also owns one local radio station in Manchester called Radio X 90s, along with two local radio licences for Peterborough and Kettering, Smooth Radio Northants. They also acquired Heart Hertfordshire from Adventure Radio, the only Heart station not sold by Global to them. In 2019, they acquired BOB FM in north Hertfordshire which has since merged with Heart Herts.

It is owned by the Irish media company Communicorp, which was formed by Denis O'Brien in 1989. Communicorp is also present in a further seven countries.
