An annual set of awards designed to recognise outstanding contributions to journalism in Wales are now open for entries

The 2024 Wales Media Awards – organised by the Journalists’ Charity – will be handed out at a gala dinner to be held at Cardiff’s Parkgate Hotel on Friday, 15th November

News organisations and individual journalists are now being invited to submit works published or broadcast between 1st June 2023 and 31st May 2024.

The deadline for entries is 12th July 2024 and details of the categories and how to enter can be found here.

There will be 21 prizes up for grabs this year including the new category of Podcast of the Year.

Judging will take place over the summer and a shortlist of finalists will be announced in September.

Christine Warwick, Chair of the Journalists’ Charity and a member of the Wales committee, said: “Last year we received a record number of entries of an extremely high quality. We look forward to receiving entries of a similar standard again this year.”

As well as celebrating excellence, the awards will help to raise all-important funds for the Journalists’ Charity which helps journalists in need.
