WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Association of Broadcasters has released the final report on the Future of Television Initiative (FOTVI), a public-private partnership that convened broadcasters, equipment manufacturers, pay TV companies and public interest advocates under the FCC and NAB’s leadership to ensure a smooth transition to the ATSC 3.0 standard.
The report reflects the momentum behind Next Gen TV, which services 75+ markets, reaching over 75% of U.S. households, and the importance of completing the transition to ATSC 3.0 which will ensure that all consumers have access to high quality, free and local over-the-air television.
“We appreciate the FCC for initiating this collaborative process,” said NAB President/CEO Curtis LeGeyt. “We look forward to continuing to work with incoming Chairman Brendan Carr to rapidly complete this essential transition to the next generation of television.”
