A features editor has left a regional daily after 21 years for a new national newapaper role.
Chris Osuh has said farewell to the Manchester Evening News, where he has worked since 2003, to join The Guardian.
Chris, pictured, will serve as community affairs correspondent based in The Guardian’s Manchester office, covering Greater Manchester’s black communities.
He will also have a wider brief reporting on Britain’s black, Asian and ethnic-minority populations and the issues that affect them.
His new role is part of the Scott Trust Legacies of Enslavement programme, which uncovered links between the founders of the then-Manchester Guardian and transatlantic slavery.
In a farewell post on X, Chris said: “Last day at Manchester Evening News after 21 amazing years.
“Will miss loyal readers, the most amazing desk, newsroom pals and the kindest MEN staff.
“Regional news is alive and well – proud to have been at the heart of it.”
